Oil paint plus oil pastel on cotton canvas, 2023

The Moth - The technique I used combines oil paint and oil pastels, which were diluted by linen oil. The artwork was created on cotton canvas. As in most of my paintings, a female figure appears. I used oil paint to create the outline of the figure, the background and main shapes. Oil pastels helped me detail the shapes that fill the Moth's body. The colour range boils down to warm shades of light grey, ochre, and peachy shades of pink. The outline of the profile was strongly accentuated with black. The image brings to mind a moth that was caught sleeping on a wall during the winter day and its inside is filled with dreams.
 
The painting is varnished.
